Double Degree LSM / NHH

Louvain-La-Neuve, Mons

Two leading business schools in Europe have joined forces, since 2009, to offer Double Master's Degrees or a rigorous qualification in Environmental Issues and Supply Chain Management, i.e. the Dedicated Double Degree.

The Norwegian School of Economics (NHH), founded in 1936, is considered the best business school in Norway. Similar to LSM, NHH is EQUIS accredited, part of the CEMS Alliance and a PIM member.

The Louvain School of Management (LSM) is the business school of the University of Louvain, founded in 1425, one of the oldest in Europe. LSM is located close to the capital of Europe and provides world class courses for Master’s students in Management and in Business Engineering. LSM focuses on excellence and on an ethical approach to business studies and business practices.

Here is your chance to stand out in the labour market. In just two years you will develop a multidimensional, distinguished professional profile, and engage at an advanced level with the latest academic research.

These Double Degrees LSM-NHH, based on reciprocal recognition of curricula and evaluation, are giving access to the Master's Degree in Management or in Business Engineering from LSM and the Master's Degree in Economics and Business Administration from NHH.

Testimonies

"The Double Degree allowed me to take classes that I would or could not necessarily have followed otherwise. I got to discovered a new culture and build a network abroad. It was a challenging experience but worth the knowledge and friends I have acquired!" (Charlotte Durieux, LSM/NHH 2015-2017)

Degrees

Double degree student who has completed the required credits of each university will obtain two degrees, one from each university:

> @ LSM: it will be the "Master en sciences de gestion, à finalité spécialisée" OR "Master en ingénieur de gestion, à finalité spécialisée" (legally titled in French, the programme is entirely in English).

> @ NHH: it will be the "Master in Economics and Business Administration"

Double Degree Structure

Dedicated Double Degree

A DDD is a programme already defined which brings together the strengths and expertise of each university. It is designed to combine two clearly identified majors giving an added value and an expertise in a specific field on top of the Master’s degree in management. This DDD integrates the major in supply chain at LSM and the major in energy and renewable resources in NHH combining therefore a focus on environmental issues and supply chain management.

The DDD partnership has been designed for a specific specialization: Supply chain and Environment. The legal compatibility and the practical feasibility of the programme have been confirmed by both institutions. We therefore encourage you to follow the combination that is initially proposed in this DDD. Nevertheless, if you have any specific project in mind that would require a different combination of majors from each school, you are free to submit it to the Educational Advisor.

Master's Thesis

Students enrolled in a double degree LSM/NHH are required to write a joint Master's thesis. Therefore the students will have to found two professors: one at LSM and one at NHH. One will be the main supervisor and the other one the reader.
Students usually start their work for the Master's thesis already during the first year. The Master's thesis will be written in English. A mandatory oral defense will take place in front of at least the two professors (by skype if needed).

Tuition Fees

Tuition fees are paid at the "home" university, for the entire duration of the studies. Administrative fees might be required at the "host" university.
