Sophie Keymolen, Provincial Deputy of Walloon Brabant, visits the FERM, LEMSC, OpenHub and SEFY platforms
Last July, Sophie Keymolen visited four UCLouvain expertise and service platforms active in very different fields: LEMSC (Laboratory for Mechanical Testing, Structures and Civil Engineering), OpenHub, which turns ideas into innovations, the university greenhouses (SEFY), and the university farms (FERM). These four visits provided four opportunities to highlight the key role UCLouvain plays in driving the dynamism of Walloon Brabant, a region renowned for its excellence in research and innovation.

P2C acquires a new rheometer, one of the most advanced for characterizing complex materials
Thanks to funding from the F.R.S.-FNRS, P2C has acquired an ARES‑G2 rheometer, which allows independent measurement of the imposed deformation and the material’s response. This significantly reduces errors related to system inertia and greatly improves measurement accuracy. This instrument will enable more precise characterization of complex materials such as polymers, gels, inks, paints, suspensions, biomaterials, composites, food products, and more.
