The Knowledge Centre for Learner Corpora in the Spotlight of Tour de CLARIN
We are delighted to share that the CLARIN Knowledge Centre for Learner Corpora (CKL2CORPORA) is currently featured in Tour de CLARIN, an initiative led by CLARIN ERIC (Common Language Resources and Technology Infrastructure).
Tour de CLARIN highlights the diversity and strengths of the CLARIN network by showcasing national consortia and k-centres that provide valuable services to the research community. This month, the spotlight is on CKL2CORPORA, a centre dedicated to supporting researchers working with learner corpora—collections of texts produced by second or foreign language learners.
Based at the Institute for Language and Communication (ILC) at UCLouvain, CKL2CORPORA is coordinated by Magali Paquot (FNRS Senior Researcher and Professor of Linguistics). The centre is committed to promoting best practices in learner corpus research, from corpus compilation to analysis and applications.
The Tour de CLARIN feature includes:
- An introduction to CKL2CORPORA
- An interview with Magali Paquot and Robert Fuchs, where they discuss the development and application of L2-meta, a metadata schema designed to standardize metadata in learner corpus research
If you're interested in learning more about our work, please also visit the CKL2CORPORA website.
We are proud to see the work of our researchers and partners gaining international visibility within the CLARIN infrastructure.
