A New President for the LAB Institute

On 1 September, Professor Gérald Ledent assumed his role as the new President of the Louvain research institute for Landscape, Architecture and the Built environment (LAB) at UCLouvain. Professor Ledent is distinguished by the excellence of his academic, scientific and professional achievements. He is also widely respected for his wisdom, integrity and commitment to serving the academic community. We extend our warmest congratulations on his appointment and wish him every success in his new role. 

He succeeds Professor Sergio Altomonte who, since the institute's creation, has played a pivotal role in its development. Through his strategic vision, unwavering commitment and remarkable ability to bring people together, he has shaped the scientific identity of the LAB, strengthened its foundations and enhanced its visibility and reputation both nationally and internationally. After six years as President of the LAB, we wish to express our sincere gratitude for his leadership, dedication and outstanding contribution to the institute's growth and development.
