Human activity in space can take many forms: scientific research, telecommunications, tourism, mining, settlement, etc. Under what conditions is it morally right to expand or decrease it? In particular, are we justified in investing in human activity in space in the coming decades rather than focusing current public spending on other challenges such as climate change and poverty eradication?
