SHESVie days 2026 May 20-22, 2026 Azat Garaev, Françoise Gofflot, René Rezsohazy participated in the annual meeting of this "Epsitemology" society. Azat presented a talk entitled “La métaphore du programme génétique et le réductionnisme en biologie du développement contemporaine”, and René Rezsohazy also provided a communication : « La difficile relation du génotype au phénotype ». HOX and TALE transcription factors: from developmental regulatory networks to disease states March 5-6, 2026 Title : HOXA1 and the heart, at the heart of HOXA1 René Rezsohazy has been invited as a speaker to this small format two-day workshop in Heidelberg with the support the Fritz Thyssen Foundation.
Belgian Proteomics Association Conference (BePAc 2025) December 4, 2025 Organized on the UCLouvain campus of Woluwe, Brussels. Manel Berkemal and Emma De Jonge presented their work related to proteomic searches for HOX interactors.
Colloquium of the "Fonds de Soutien Marguerite-Marie Delacroix" November 2025 The Gofflot team attended this scientific meeting, which featured projects supported by the Marguerite-Marie Delacroix Fund. Both the ARC and Fund share a scope regarding the involvement of HOXA5 in neurodevelopmental pathologies.
SHESVie and Louvain4Evolution Workshop: Concepts and Objects in Biology October 9, 2025 in Louvain-la-Neuve, Belgium. A one-day workshop jointly organized by the SHESVie society and the action Louvain4Evolution, interrogating the common confusion between concepts and objects in biology. All the EPISTEMODEVO members attended ! René Rezsohazy was a co-organizer and a speaker for this workshop. Project members involved : Manel Berkemal, Laure Bridoux, Emma De Jonge, Azat Garaev, Françoise Gofflot, Frédéric Lemaigre, Charles Pence, René Rezsohazy and Romane Schils.
PhD student day 2025, UNamur September 11, 2025 Biochemists and molecular and cellular biologists from UNamur and UCLouvain met for this yearly event. Emma De Jonge and Manel Berkemal presented their work in progress during the poster sessions. Emma earned the Best Poster Award 2025.
Summer school in Epistemology - Ecole doctorale d'été en épistémologie August 4-8 2025, Peyresq, France. An interdisciplinary five-day workshop for PhD students, aiming at revealing the epistemic challenges of their ongoing research. PhD students are asked to work in binomes to also grasp the specific epistemologies of other scientific disciplines. René Rezsohazy, member of the organizing committee, gave two lectures and mentored PhD student binomes. The workshop gathered 20 attendees (half PIs, half students). Shaping Life 3 June 3-6 2025 in Cassis, France Shaping Life: An International Conference on Developmental Biology. Emma De Jonge presented a poster, co-authored with Laure Bridoux and René Rezsohazy: “The stability of the HOXA1 transcription factor as a determinant in the control of cardiac development”.
Symposium on Regenerative Hepatology May 6, 2025 in Amsterdam. Romane Schils, PhD student with Prof. Frédéric Lemaigre, participated in the 4th of this international Symposium, and presented a talk on bile duct development, a biological process controlled by the transcription factor HNF6, whose stability she is investigating in the ARC project. Romane won first prize for her talk!
SHESVie days Françoise Gofflot and René Rezsohazy became members of the "Société d'Histoire et d'Epistémologie des Sciences de la Vie" (Society for the History and Epistemology of Life Sciences).
