Support for innovation and knowledge transfer

uclouvain |

Research findings from across all disciplines can lead to innovation and knowledge transfer, with support from LouvainTransfer.

The Brussels-Capital Region, through Innoviris, and the Walloon Region, through SPW Economy, Employment and Research, provide funding to develop research findings and translate them into practical applications. They place particular emphasis on the socio-economic impact of research within their respective regions. To this end, they offer a range of funding instruments to support the knowledge transfer process, including:

  • collaborative research programmes;
  • proof-of-concept (POC);
  • intellectual property protection costs (patents);
  • support programmes for spin-off creation.

These funding instruments are available to all UCLouvain research teams, regardless of where they are based, provided that the expected impact benefits the region concerned.

You can contact members of the Regional and Federal Funding (RREG) Unit according to your discipline and region for guidance and ongoing support:

But the RREG Unit doesn’t work alone. To support researchers throughout the process, LouvainTransfer brings together staff from SOPARTEC and UCLouvain’s Research Administration Department (ADRE). Together, they form a multidisciplinary team whose members provide complementary expertise and skills:

  • project development advisers;
  • knowledge transfer advisers;
  • legal advisers;
  • intellectual property protection advisers;
  • intellectual property development and commercialisation advisers;
  • business developers.

Don’t hesitate to contact the LouvainTransfer team.
