Master in science and management of the environment and sustainable development (120 credits, 2 years)

agro | Louvain-la-Neuve

Objective of the Master ?

The aim of the Interdisciplinary Masters in Environmental and Sustainable Development Science and Management (ENVI2MC) is to train students to become future professionals capable of :

  • to dialogue with all the stakeholders,
  • to approach environmental issues in a systemic way and to integrate all the factors and dimensions necessary for their reasoned management: scientific, economic, ethical, societal and technical dimensions,
  • to develop a synthetic vision of all interactions between the ecosystems and the sociosystems and to identify the synergies that are necessary for the realization of the actions.

This master opens access to jobs related to the environment and sustainable development, or outside these fields (great adaptability of graduates). We find our graduates in private companies, consulting firms, non-governmental and associative organizations (from the regional to the international level), public administrations (from the municipal level to the international level), as well as in the education. The sectors concerned are mainly the tertiary sector and consultancy, but also the secondary sector (production and processing), and to a lesser extent in the primary sector.

Please note that the interdisciplinary nature of this Master's programme presupposes sufficient prior skills to derive the expected professional benefit: the Master's programme is designed for students who have already completed a first Master's degree (120 or equivalent; minimum 240 higher education credits - university or higher education establishment). On the other hand, the interdisciplinary nature of this Master's degree means that it can be taken by candidates who wish to deepen their knowledge and develop their skills, whatever the field of their initial Master's degree: science and technology, human sciences or health sciences.

The ENVI2MC Master's programme is organised on a daytime and face-to-face basis only.
