In accordance with Article 26 of the Electoral Regulations : "the candidate who in the second round obtains an absolute majority in accordance with the provisions of Articles 22, 24 and 25 shall be elected."
Therefore, the elected candidate is : Professor Françoise Smets. She will take up her post as UCLouvain Rector on 1 September.
