In legal history, Pierre-Olivier de Broux specializes in the history of public law, institutions, and human rights at the Belgian, European, and international levels, as well as in the history of colonial law. He is committed to widely disseminating the historian's tools, which are essential for any citizen confronted with the rise of the information society, and to exposing (future) jurists to the practical application of law and the intersection of law with facts, and even with history. These concerns are reflected in his research on the close relationships between law and history (history in the courts, the law of history, memory laws, etc.).
