Professor Emeritus at UCLouvain - Universitรฉ catholique de Louvain, Yurii Nesterov has received ๐จ๐ง๐ž ๐จ๐Ÿ ๐ญ๐ก๐ž ๐ฐ๐จ๐ซ๐ฅ๐โ€™๐ฌ ๐ฆ๐จ๐ฌ๐ญ ๐ฉ๐ซ๐ž๐ฌ๐ญ๐ข๐ ๐ข๐จ๐ฎ๐ฌ ๐๐ข๐ฌ๐ญ๐ข๐ง๐œ๐ญ๐ข๐จ๐ง๐ฌ ๐ข๐ง ๐š๐ฉ๐ฉ๐ฅ๐ข๐ž๐ ๐ฆ๐š๐ญ๐ก๐ž๐ฆ๐š๐ญ๐ข๐œ๐ฌ.

His contributions, including the well-known accelerated ๐ ๐ซ๐š๐๐ข๐ž๐ง๐ญ ๐ฆ๐ž๐ญ๐ก๐จ๐, have provided theoretical foundations and algorithmic tools that are now ๐ฎ๐ฌ๐ž๐ ๐š๐œ๐ซ๐จ๐ฌ๐ฌ ๐ฆ๐š๐ง๐ฒ ๐ง๐ฎ๐ฆ๐ž๐ซ๐ข๐œ๐š๐ฅ ๐š๐ง๐ ๐๐š๐ญ๐š-๐๐ซ๐ข๐ฏ๐ž๐ง ๐Ÿ๐ข๐ž๐ฅ๐๐ฌ. They make it possible to solve problems that would otherwise be too slow or too costly to compute.
