I obtained a Master’s Degree in Business Engineering from UCLouvain (Belgium) in 2015. I wrote my master’s thesis – linked to an internship at Real Impact Analytics – on the use of telecom Big Data to report poverty in developing countries.
After graduation, I worked for 2 years at Oxfam-Magasins du Monde - the Oxfam Belgian branch promoting fair-trade. I then worked for 1 year at 4Wings Foundation – a family foundation positioning itself as a venture philanthropist that supports social entrepreneurs fighting against poverty in Belgium.
Having discovered the “buzz” around social impact assessment and having always worked around reporting in non-profit contexts, I went back to UCLouvain in 2019 to start a PhD in management on the social impact assessment of social enterprises with a specific “Applied PhD” grant. It requires the researcher to spend half of the working time at a partner company (a major Belgian social enterprise in my case), which perfectly fitted my desire to conduct societally engaged research. More specifically, I was interested in the assessment of the impact and the impact of the assessment, i.e. how a social enterprise can assess its social impact and how this assessment process impacts the social enterprise. I defended my PhD thesis in 2023.
Since beginning 2023, I have worked for the ChairES (Chaire en Economie Sociale) UCLouvain. I also teach the course “LECON2351 : Economie sociale” with Professor Marthe Nyssens.
