Alicia Lambert
Alicia Lambert is a doctoral student in literature at the Institut des civilisations, arts et lettres (INCAL) of the Université Catholique de Louvain (Belgium). Her doctoral project, supported by an FNRS-FRESH grant, examines the artistic gestures that denounce and subvert the Belgian (neo)colonial imaginary in a corpus of recent comics (2000-2023). Her work focuses on artists such as Barly Baruti, Asimba Bathy, Jean-Philippe Stassen, Nicolas Pitz, Nicolas Wouters, Olivier Schrauwen, Anton Kannemeyer, Frank Mukanday and Tétshim, among others. She is the author of several articles, as well as a review and an interview, published in Memory Studies, French Studies in Southern Africa, European Comic Art and Nouvelles Études Francophones. Related to her research, she has also collaborated with Esa Saint-Luc and associations such as Louvain Coopération, Centre Placet and CEC ONG, including for the exhibition Angles morts de la décolonisation belge (2023, Louvain-la-Neuve).
