Research programmes
Perfectionism and psychopathology
My main area of research is aimed at gaining a better understanding of the processes involved in goal regulation and emotion regulation that may contribute to the vulnerability of perfectionists to psychological disorders, in particular depression, anxiety disorders and eating disorders.
Transdiagnostic approach to negative repetitive thoughts
This programme examines the role played by negative repetitive thoughts in the maintenance of various psychological disorders (i.e. depression, anxiety, alcohol-related disorders, eating disorders).
In a series of studies (cross-sectional, experimental and longitudinal), I am particularly interested in the distinction between two types of repetitive thought - analytical-abstract thought and concrete-experiential thought - and their implication in psychopathology.
