irec | Bruxelles Woluwe
IREC core facilities offer their services to researchers and clinicians .
Imaging
The 2IP team (one research logistician and two technicians) takes care of training researchers on imaging equipment and software, is committed to sharing advices on basic and cutting-edge technologies and is open to academic researchers, clinicians and industrial partners.
Our motto: "Alone we go faster, together we go further".
Applied molecular technologies
CTMA provides IREC researchers with access to and support for the use of numerous molecular technologies, including quantitative PCR, Sanger sequencing, pyrosequencing, and next-generation sequencing (Illumina-Miseq), microarray facilities (Affymetrix, Agilent, custom glass slide arrays, etc.). .
Flow cytometry
The CytoFlux facility was created in 2011.
It consists of tools for analysis (FACSCantoII and Novocyte Quanteon) and cell separation (FACSAriaIII) under the supervision of a research logistician (Davide Brusa).
Animal facility
The main objectives of the animIREC facility are to improve the living conditions of animals in a state-of-the-art facility and to give them access to cutting-edge equipment, with the aim of pooling equipment, skills and knowledge within the institute.
The facility currently consists of a logistics manager (Solveig Mouterde) and two technicians.
Metabolism and metabolomics
IREC Metabolomics Core Facility is organised around equipments dedicated to the analysis of cellular metabolism [including Seahorse for measuring respiration and glycolysis, CMA for semi-automated measurement of metabolites] and the metabolome/lipidome of different biological matrices [including Orbitrap Exploris 240 HR-MS and Synapt XS QToF].
Integrated physiology
This IPhy facility offers full access to equipment dedicated to vascular reactivity, hemodynamic profiling, EPR spectrometry, dynamic secretion measurements of pancreatic islets, organoids,...
The staff provides training for new users, assistance with setting up experimental protocols and results analysis.
