Three welcome days for new students

To help new arrivals get their student lives off to a flying start, three welcome days are being organised in Louvain-la-Neuve when the new term begins. Name of the operation: ‘Welcome to UCLouvain’.

Whether they are from Belgium or abroad, following the regular curriculum or here for a period of study abroad, on a master’s course or a bachelor's course, students arriving at the university for the first time should be given the opportunity to discover the tools they need for an intense, rich student life.

The Welcome Week therefore includes short, targeted information sessions on specific subjects. They will be organised on in Louvain-la-Neuve on 12, 13 and 16 September. The students can attend the sessions that interest them, depending on their situation and their centres of interest. To avoid scheduling issues, certain sessions will be repeated several times during the week. A centralised reception point will be set up in Place de l’Université.

The ‘Welcome Week’ programme will be supplemented by welcome activities in the various faculties as well as International Students'Day on Friday, 13 September.

An assessment of this first event has already been planned in order to make improvements for the start of the 2020 academic year and potentially include other UCLouvain sites.
