UCLouvain is pulling out all the stops to welcome this year’s new international students. It will host two festive cultural events on 26 September in Louvain-la-Neuve and 15 October in Woluwe.
In Louvain-la-Neuve, students are invited to the L Museum at 6:30 pm. They will be welcomed by university leaders – first and foremost the rector and the pro-rector for international affairs – the International Student Coordination Office (CGEI) and the Student General Assembly (AGL). They will then enjoy a buffet of Belgian and international specialties.
At 9:00 pm, students will cross the Place des Sciences to the Salmigondis room for activities prepared by CGEI, the Placet Centre and the so-called kots-à-projet (theme-based student accommodation). Games, activities, dance classes, Belgian folklore, mini-concerts, tastings and all kinds of activities will be designed to promote the integration of students into the world of Louvain-la-Neuve. An exhibition of photographs taken by international students before their arrival will also be presented.
In Woluwe on 15 October, a similar party will take place according to the same principle: after a reception hosted by university leaders, students will be invited to participate in a series of activities prepared by CGEI and the kots-à-projet. The evening event will be hosted by Martin V restaurant.
In both Louvain-la-Neuve and Woluwe, all international exchange and regular students are welcome.
