Exploring metabolism - From broad profiling to targeted quantification
The IREC Metabolomics Core (IREComics) supports research into metabolism through advanced liquid chromatography–mass spectrometry (LC–MS). We combine untargeted metabolomics and lipidomics with targeted quantitative analyses to investigate metabolic changes in complex biological samples. Our expertise spans small polar metabolites, lipids, bile acids, oxylipins and steroid hormones, alongside stable isotope tracing to explore metabolic pathways. By bringing together complementary analytical approaches and chromatographic expertise, we help researchers connect their biological questions with meaningful metabolic measurements.

- Untargeted and targeted metabolomics of complex biological samples

- Quantitative oxylipin profiling (HODEs, HETEs, prostanoids, maresins, resolvins and more)

- Stable isotope tracing (fluxomics) with ¹³C/¹⁵N/²H labelled tracers
- Targeted LC–MS analysis of additional compounds including short-chain fatty acids, aldehydes and pharmaceuticals
