Lorena Izaguirre is an FNRS postdoctoral research fellow at the Interdisciplinary Research Center on Families and Sexualities (CIRFASE) at UCLouvain (Belgium). Previously, she was a postdoctoral researcher at the Institute of Geography of the University of Neuchâtel and nccr – on the move.
She is a sociologist trained in Peru, France, and Belgium and holds a Ph.D. in Political and Social Sciences from UCLouvain (2019). Her research covers various topics, including South-South migration, the interplay of class, race, ethnicity, and gender in migrants’ trajectories, the links between spatial and social mobility, and the imbrication of precarity and informality. Her work draws on fieldwork experiences in Ecuador, Peru, Brazil, and Belgium.
