Lucas Lerchs trained as an architect and urban planner at UCLouvain (BE) and obtained an advanced master's degree at KULeuven (BE). His main field of research focuses on the relationship between urban marginality and ecological systems in various contexts in Europe, Latin America and the Middle East. After working as a research scientist in the Urban Transformation Program Colombia at ETH Zürich, Lucas joined Bureau Bas Smets in Brussels to develop his practice as a landscape architect. He is currently developing his doctoral project 'Socio-ecological Margins', studying the peripheries of São Paulo (BR) in collaboration with the LAB UCLouvain (BE), and the Laboratório Justiça Territorial of UFABC (BR).
