Azd Zayoud received his degree in marine engineering and naval architecture at Tishreen University in 2007 and received his master degree in energy in 2012. He performed his Ph.D. thesis at the Indian Institute of Technology Guwahati (IITG) between 2012 and 2016 as a Research Fellow of the Indian Council for Cultural Relations (ICCR). Between 2018 and 2020, he had a post-doc position at Laboratory for Chemical Technology Ghent University. He worked on industrial projects that focused on end-of-life plastics recycling. We develop a pilot scale continuous stirring tank reactor setup to process key plastic types.
Since 2021, he is a researcher at UCLouvain, where he is a principal researcher of FLEXnCONFU project which focuses on Power-to-X-to-Power systems and using non-conventional fuel such as hydrogen and Ammonia to efficiently align power plants’ flexibility with grid balancing need in the electrical market framework.
