My research focuses on socio-cognitive conflicts and learning. Socio-cognitive conflicts are discrepancies of knowledge that allow learners to engage in knowledge-oriented interactions. Such engagement is important due to the positive effects it can have on learning. As part of the MOOCresearch2.0 project, my research contributes to a better understaning of how socio-conflicts can be promoted in the forums of Massive Open Online Courses (MOOCs) and resolved in a way that allows the co-construction of knowledge.
This research is funded by the Collective Research Initiative (ARC) and aims at informing MOOC instructors and developers about the dynamic process of social learning in MOOC forums to help them design learning environments that could trigger the most fruitful socio-cognitive interactions.
