Mathieu received his Electrical Engineering Master’s degree from Université catholique de Louvain in 2021. His master thesis was centered around the development of an image processing pipeline for large-scale in vivo population studies of the brain microstructure.
He is currently doing a PhD thesis under the supervision of Christophe De Vleeschouwer (UCLouvain). His current research aims at exploring the use of convolutional autoencoders to represent pairs of consecutive video frames by a latent code that disentangles the static and dynamic visual information. This research is supported by a Research Fellow grant from Fonds de la Recherche Scientifique (F.R.S.-FNRS).
