Dr. Ignace Adant completed his PhD in economics at l’Ecole polytechnique (Palaiseau, France) on the economic role of opacity in the Circular Economy and is senior researcher at the Earth and Life Institute (ELI-UCLouvain) since 2015.
His research focuses in particular on the conditions needed for the development and stabilization of innovation and value chains in the Circular Economy and the Circular Bioeconomy. His methodological approach interfaces in-depth field studies (through complete immersion in innovation processes and participatory observation) with econometric and formal approaches.
Ignace has a proven track record in analysing radical innovations for the Circular Economy, within the private sector as well as supported by public regional and European funding. He leads national and international innovative projects that have allowed him to gain significant experience in steering research and development teams around innovation prototypes. His know-how of innovation support programs in Circular Economy and Bioeconomy specific of the Brussels-Capital region and Wallonia.
Based on research carried out so far, he develops and implements integrated methodologies for impact assessment in sensitive environments in Europe, in South-America and in Southeast Asian. Since 2015, this has led him to be principal investigator and/or coordinator of six different research projects related to socio-economic and environmental impact assessment and to be invited to take part in several other projects and research activities related to the fields of circular economy and innovation, with the aim to directly support innovative research and development activities.
