Spanish courses

The ILV, the Language Institute of the UCLouvain, offers general Spanish courses from level A1 to level C1, as well as specialised courses.
All of our teachers are native Spanish speakers who have received training in teaching Spanish as a foreign language and/or have extensive experience of teaching Spanish.
Our courses follow the levels established by the CEFR, the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages and prioritise the action-oriented, communicative methods proposed by the CEFR of the Council of Europe.
Our Offer
We offer two types of course :
1) Faculty courses
The ESPO and FIAL faculties offer Spanish courses to their own students as part of their annual programmes (PAE).

2) "All faculties" courses
These “all-faculties” Spanish courses are available
- for students from all UCLouvain faculties
only within the PAE (Annual Student Programme), subject to approval from the Spanish Teacher, for final approval by the Faculty Select Committee
as part of an exchange programme, following selection (registration via 'ERAS LV')
- to UCLouvain staff members, except in cases of professional necessity

3) We also offer
- We also provide coaching, tutoring and tandem learning to support success in Spanish courses.
- As an authorised examination centre, we offer the SIELE Spanish Certificate exam, like the Instituto Cervantes in Brussels.
- The Language Institute offers an inter-university certificate in Spanish language teaching (LovELE), which is open to teachers and future teachers of Spanish as a foreign language (20 ECTS).
This blended learning continuing education course includes specialisation courses and workshops, and is free of charge !
