Scientific expertise

Responsible for collecting, saving and studying documentation concerning Christian life in Wallonia and Brussels in the 19th and 20th centuries, ARCA is a documentary platform with the aim of:

  • safeguarding the Catholic heritage when institutional or private collections are threatened with destruction; preserving, wherever possible, documents within the institution that produced the archive; advising owners on how to preserve archives;  
  • valorising studies carried out within ARCA on the basis of its documentation or in connection with its fields of interest, via scientific production and the organisation of scientific events and exhibitions.

  • Specialised library (part of UCLouvain library system)
