Prof. dr Laurent Taskin, coordinator of the project

Laurent Taskin holds a PhD in Management science, is a professor of Human Resource Management and Organisation Studies at the Louvain School of Management (UCLouvain) and is head of the labor-H Chair (research and innovation centre dedicated to the study of new ways of working, incl. hybrid work) at LouRIM. His research focuses on new ways of working (telework, the distribution of working spaces) and managing (self-management, agile work) with a specific focus on the re-regulation of collective and social norms (e.g. of control and collaboration).

Stéphanie Coster, research manager and post-doctoral researcher

Stéphanie Coster holds a PhD in Management Sciences from the UCLouvain and is an invited professor at the Louvain School of Management ( UCLouvain) in the field of Human Resource Management. She has developed an expertise in mixed methods research. Her research interests include new ways of working, digitalisation, and job quality.

Amine Chihi, researcher

Amine Chihi holds a master's degree in Innovation & management in tourism from the university of applied sciences Salzburg, a master's degree in European studies-management of EU projects from the university of applied sciences Burgenland and an advanced master's in sustainable blue growth from the university of Trieste. He is a researcher in the SUSHY project working on the productivity dimension. He is particularly interested in understanding the link between hybrid work and performance/productivity in institutions of higher education as part of his doctoral thesis.



 

VUB – Interface Demography (ID)

Prof. Dr. Christophe Vanroelen

Christophe Vanroelen is associate professor at the Department of Sociology of the Vrije Universiteit Brussel and is the director of the Interface Demography since 2017. His current research focuses on health inequalities, and effects of health determinants related to work and employment, with specific interests in quality of work, mental health in the workplace, sustainable work, employment precariousness and the situation of labour market entrants. Methodologically, his team is experienced in both quantitative and qualitative research, including action- and participatory research.

Karen van Aerden, senior researcher

Karen Van Aerden is a senior researcher connected to the Interface Demography research centre at the Vrije Universiteit Brussel since November 2011. In 2018, she successfully defended her PhD in Sociology. Her research interests include job and employment quality in relation to employees’ mental and physical health. 

Jens Dom, researcher

Jens Doms is a junior researcher connected to Interface Demography since 2021. He holds a bachelor’s degree in communications management (Arteveldehogeschool, 2019) and a master’s degree in sociology (VUB, 2021). Currently pursuing his PhD in Sociology on ‘hybrid working arrangements and employee well-being’, his work explores the effects of new ways of working on various dimensions, including job quality, health & well-being, and work-life balance.

Prof. Dr. Hervé Jeanmart

Hervé Jeanmart is professor in applied thermodynamics and energy. He is active in the sustainable energy research group whose activities range from whole energy systems at country level to specific components like biomass boilers and engines.

Prof. Dr. Sergio Altomonte

Sergio Altomonte holds a Master in Architecture and a PhD in Environmental Engineering and is Full Professor of Architectural Physics. He has more than 20 years of academic and professional experience, gained in Italy, Australia, United Kingdom and the US. His research expertise focuses on buildings’ sustainable design, indoor environmental quality, building energy management and occupant comfort, satisfaction and well-being.

Aybüke Taşer, researcher

Aybüke Taşer holds a Bachelor of Architecture from Yasar University and a master’s degree in architecture and Building Physics from Izmir Institute of Technology. Her works focus on computational intelligence, building performance simulation, and optimization. As part of her Ph.D. studies at the UCLouvain, she is interested in assessing the relevance between hybrid work and building performance.


 

UNamur-NaDI 

Prof. Dr. Annick Castiaux

Annick Castiaux holds a PhD in Physics and is a Professor of Innovation management at the UNamur. Her research looks at the innovation process through two main lenses: collaboration and participation for innovation, on one hand, and innovation and sustainability, on the other hand.

Dr. Antoine Clarinval

Dr. Antoine Clarinval completed a PhD in computer science, looking at the technologies enabling the participation of citizens in smart cities. He was thus involved in the development and evaluation of multiple interactive systems and has acquired an expertise in a wide range of design and evaluation methodologies
