ACM ICSS’20 Honorable Mention Award for Iyad Khaddam, PhD and Prof. Jean Vanderdonckt

LOURIM Louvain-La-Neuve, Mons

Congratulations to Iyad Khaddam, PhDProf. Jean Vanderdonckt and Donatien Grolaux (LouRIM scientific cooperator) who got the Honorable Mention Award for Towards Rapid Protyping of Foldable Graphical User Interfaces with Flecto during ACM ISS’20, held online from 8 to 11 November! ACM Interactive Surfaces and Spaces is the premier venue for research in the design, development, and use of new and emerging interactive surface technologies and interactive spaces.

Towards Rapid Protyping of Foldable Graphical User Interfaces with Flecto investigates the display-related issues. Foldable smartphones, laptops, etc. are booming, but generate a brand-new user experience. By using Flecto, a design environment where foldable user interfaces are simulated in 3D environment instead of in physical reality, this paper provides insights for the understanding of how to model, to design, and to prototype graphical user interfaces for foldable devices before actually implementing them.
