Context

UCLouvain is a comprehensive university offering, in the context of the present position, the opportunity of cross-disciplinary research and teaching collaborations. Within the Social Sciences and Humanities Sector, the position is attached to the Louvain School of Management and to the Louvain Research Institute in Management and Organizations that offer opportunities for diverse and stimulating teaching as well as an environment to carry out ambitious research.

Mission

Teaching

The successful candidate will have teaching assignments mainly in the field of quantitative aspects of marketing, quantitative methods and stochastic modelling, including data analytics applications (use of open databases and/or databases generated by interaction on markets or plateforms). Depending on his or her profile, the successful candidate will teach in our various programs (Master, Bachelor, Doctoral Program) courses in marketing, statistics or data analysis. In collaboration with other professors, the candidate will supervise marketing-oriented business projects (i.e., data-driven marketing) in a new project course in the Master's programmes. Part of the teaching can be assigned to the Mons site or to the evening part-time programmes.

Research

The research will focus on strategic and quantitative aspects of (i.e., digital) marketing, including topics such as marketing analytics, predictive modelling in marketing and/or data-driven marketing.
The successful candidate will have strong analytical skills; a passion for new technologies and their potential to improve the customer experience; an excellent command of statistical analysis methods and software as well as the ability to adapt to technological and methodological developments in this field, applied to the areas of marketing analytics and customer relationship research (CRM). His or her research will be based on survey data, web or social network analysis and/or big databases. The critical and ethical questioning of these 'new' marketing practices is a strong point (in line with the values of our institution) that will be taken into account in the evaluation of applications.
The candidate will show an analytical capacity and the ability to initiate and carry through innovative research projects in management science, leading to high-impact publications in international scientific journals. The candidate will supervise doctoral projects in his/her field and apply for national and international research funds.
