The CAI (Conseil de l'Action Internationale) has recently communicated the results of their 2023 call for projects in the framework of the “South Partnership” programme. Sana Larif’s project was awarded a 22-month scholarship. Quite a success since only selected 11 out of the 77 applications were selected.
Sana Larif has been a member of the LouRIM since October 2020. Her research interests lie in social entrepreneurship, focusing on innovative entrepreneurial ecosystems and, ultimately, the business support organizations. More recently, her work has focused on understanding how social impact incubators help social start-ups to overcome and manage their hybridity-related tensions to achieve social and financial goals in Tunisia. Her study aims for instance to provide a guideline for incubation program managers in Tunisia to improve their programs by having a new strategic vision of social start-ups’ hybridity tensions.
What is the Conseil de l'Action Internationale (CAI) scholarship « South Partnership » contest ?
UCLouvain organizes annually a call for applications for doctoral scholarships, or for mobility scholarships in the framework of a doctoral or post-doctoral stay for nationals coming from developing countries. A nice way for UCLouvain to reinforce collaboration and partnership with universities in these countries and to create new ones in terms of research.
Qualified PhD theses have to include a dimension of development cooperation, i.e. involve a partner Southern institution (co-supervision or other form of collaboration with a scientist from the South) or tackle dissemination, awareness-raising and/or networking activities that are foreseen at UCLouvain and in the partner institution(s) in the South with a view of a transfer of skills and knowledge. Research axes of the PhD theses also have to respect the dimensions of human rights, ethics and integrity, academic freedom, gender equality, and plurality of South and North views.
