Access2University: 2020-21 edition

The fourth edition of the Access2University programme for asylum seekers and refugees will take place during the 2020-21 academic year. Applications are currently being accepted.

The Access2University programme aims to prepare refugees or asylum seekers for university studies. Unique in the Wallonia-Brussels Federation, the programme has welcomed 57 refugees and asylum seekers in three years of existence. Last year, 70% of programme students subsequently enrolled in a higher education programme, 13% opted for another course, and 17% chose to work.

The programme has three components: French courses, academic courses in the student’s discipline, and individualised support on various levels (administrative procedures, orientation, integration, etc.).

If you have applied for asylum in Belgium or have refugee status or subsidiary or temporary protection, reside in Belgium, and have at least A2 level French, you are eligible to apply to the 2020-21 programme.

The application deadline is 27 March. Information and the application form can be found on the programme presentation page.

For the 2019-20 academic year, in all programmes combined, UCLouvain has welcomed 125 asylum seeker or refugee students.
