As professor “Assessment for learning” the research interests of L. Coertjens are twofold. On the one hand, she is interested in assessment. More specifically, her research focuses on effective feedback (by peers and teaching staff) and the impact of different rating methods (e.g. rubrics rating, comparative judgement). On the other hand, stemming from her PhD research on students’ learning strategies during the transition from secondary to higher education, she is interested in students’ transition to higher education and to the workplace and in the statistical hurdles in modelling growth over time.
She is responsible for courses on educational assessment, designing learning environments and advanced statistics in the Master of Educational Sciences and the Master in Psychology.
