Incoming Students: Entry Requirements, Selection Process, Time Frame, Application

Incoming students are engineering Master students from partner universities of Louvain School of Engineering coming in the framework of an exchange programme or a double-degree programme.

Entry Requirements

Entry requirements combine criteria such as degree courses, student motivation and language knowledge. A good command of English is compulsory, some notion of French would be an asset. 

This programme is designed for Master students at Louvain School of Engineering and engineering Master students from partner universities of Louvain School of Engineering, with a priority for students in Masters such as :

  • Master in Chemical and Materials Engineering,
  • Master in Physical Engineering
  • Master in Electrical Engineering
  • Master in Civil Engineering
  • Master in Mathematical Engineering
     
  • With specialized courses in :
  1. glass (including solgel, Nan particles, mem’s, sensors)
  2. glass composition
  3.  thin layers
  4. solar technologies in thin layers, photovoltaic, organic photovoltaic, lab photovoltaic cells)
  5. Led, oled
  6.  photothermic
  7. surface testing techniques (related to thin layers)
  8. refractories
  9. Engineering students in Civil engineering, specialized in photovoltaic, thermal comfort, digital simulation of structures 

Master students eligible for this program are currently registered in partner institutions of Louvain School of Engineering (i.e. an institution which has signed a student exchange agreement with EPL) and preferably located in a country where a production site of AGC Glass Europe is based :

     Netherlands

Selection Process Time Frame

  1. Applications sent to Louvain School of Engineering by Mid-April of previous academic year before student mobility. Please note that your application must be first validated by your home institution in the same way as a regular "Erasmus" application.
  2. Final selection made by AGC Glass Europe & Louvain School of Engineering Partnership Management Committee by Mid-May. 
     
  3. Selection officially announced to students at partner institutions  end of May.
  4. September : the program starts with the official distribution of scholarships by AGC Glass Europe to the selected students, followed by an academic semester at Louvain School of Engineering in Louvain-la-Neuve, from Mid-September  till end of January. 
    Studends will the start their internship on an AGC R&D or production site in Belgium, following their exam session, i.e. as from end of January. 
    Double-degree students selected for an AGC scholarship will have their internship take place during the Summer between Master 1 and Master 2.
     
  5. At the end of students' internship  onwards: AGC GLASS EUROPE will keep close contacts with the students, through their local offices in the students’ country of residence for recruitment opportunities.

AGC GLASS EUROPE will provide financial support with a grant of 4.750 € per scholarship. In addition, students will also have the possibility to apply for an Erasmus or any other scholarship provided according to the rules of by their home university.

How to Apply

You first need to forward us the Admission Form as incoming exchange and double-degree students, validated by your home university.

Beside this Admission form, you should also forward an application letter and a detailed resumé in English (addressed to the same contact person as the Admission form).

Application deadline for next academic year is usually mid-April.
