Liquid crystals for solid polymer electrolytes by Isaac ALVAREZ MOISES
Pour l’obtention du grade académique de Doctorat en Sciences
Summary: The primary objective of this doctoral thesis is to explore the innovative use of liquid crystals to enhance the performance of solid polymer electrolytes in lithium metal batteries. This thesis tries to answer the primary inquiry, which is "How can liquid crystals be used in solid polymer electrolytes?" For that purpose, three distinct approaches have been formulated, namely: the additive, the interlayer and the polymer matrix approach. In each of these approaches, liquid crystals have been introduced in a manner tailored to achieve specific objectives. This research address critical challenges associated with ionic conductivity and stability, which are important for the advancement of lithium metal battery technology.
