Both thermodynamics – directly related to radiative forcing and/or temperature changes - and dynamics -linked to changes in winds- contribute to natural climate variability and anthropogenic climate change. Through a few examples, I will illustrate how those different types of processes interact and that, although the impact of thermodynamic processes is generally easier to explain, the one of the dynamics should not be underestimated.
