Why do we collect your data? What data is collected? Who is the Data Controller?
 

The personal data we collect is processed solely for the purposes of sending you information on UCLouvain’s continuing education programmes (information on new or renewed university-level continuing education courses, news on continuing education, events related to continuing education, quality surveys administered to participants in our continuing education programmes, etc.).
This data is processed in accordance with applicable law, and specifically with EU Regulation 2016/679 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 27 April 2016 on the protection of natural persons with regard to the processing of personal data and on the free movement of such data (the GDPR) and the Belgian Law of 30 July 2018 on the protection of natural persons with regard to the processing of personal data.

We collect the following personal data:

  • Your identity
  • Your postal address
  • Your email address
  • Your personal characteristics
  • Your educational background and studies
  • Your job and/or industry
  • The courses you have taken at UCLouvain
  • Your billing information (solely for individuals who register for our courses)
  • Your image

The Data Controller is: Institute for Continuing Education (IUFC) – UCLouvain

 How is your personal data stored? For how long?
 

Your data is stored as a paper file and/or electronic file under the supervision of the Data Controller, who will take every measure needed to ensure that it remains secure.
Appropriate security measures have been put in place to ensure that your personal data is used in accordance with the purposes for which it was collected and to prevent any loss, misuse, or tampering of the data. The data is stored for the period provided for under applicable law or for a period corresponding to the purposes for which it was collected.

Who can access your data? Will your data be transferred?
 

Only members of the Institute for Continuing Education (IUFC) and the members responsible for processing the database of registered UCLouvain course participants have access to your data. The data is never sent to third parties.

How can you exercise your rights?
