In any legal system, rules seek to steer behaviour. This is why a sound understanding of human behaviour is so important to make good law. Since the EU produces a lot of law and regulates the largest consumer market in the world, it is a good thing that it too - along with many governments around the world - takes a keen interest in behavioural insights. Anne-Lise Sibony and her team study how the EU uses behavioural input and, more broadly, we take a behavioural perspective on EU law. Our areas of focus are consumer law, competition law, internal market, food law, environmental law and digital platforms.
