Hélène Verhaeghe is a new faculty member of ICTEAM/INGI.
Hélène is an AI researcher, who specializes in Constraint Programming, Combinatorial Optimization, and hybridization between Machine Learning methods and Optimization methods. She has a master's degree in Computer Science Engineering, and a complementary master's in Management, both from UCLouvain. She then obtained her PhD focussing on Constraint Programming at UCLouvain in 2021. Since then she went to Polytechnique Montréal for her first post-doc followed by a second one at KULeuven, in which she worked on hybridization techniques and Constraint Programming.
Her current research interests include developing new algorithms for the CP solvers, developing modeling tools for combinatorial problems, modeling new problems, using new solving techniques (e.g., MDDs),... but also study ways in which machine learning and CP techniques can benefit from each other.
Outside of work, Hélène likes cooking, playing (tabletop, video, role play) games, reading, nature, photography, and learning new DIY skills.
Welcome Hélène !
