Welcome to Pierre-Yves Gousenbourger !

Pierre-Yves Gousenbourger graduated from UCLouvain in June 2013 as a civil engineer in applied mathematics. During his Masters, he took part to an atypical program mixing computational mathematics and hydraulics. After a short experience in a development company, he came back to UCLouvain in 2014 as a PhD student. He conducted a thesis under the supervision of Prof. Pierre-Antoine Absil at ICTEAM. In the meanwhile, he was also a teaching assistant very involved in the life of the school. He defended his thesis in 2020 : “Interpolation and Fitting on Riemannian Manifolds”. The muses of teaching charm him since far too long (long before he got hair on his chin) : it is very natural that he is now Master Assistant at EPHEC and Lecturer at UCLouvain to teach classes such as complements of mathematics, physics or electronics.

Titre de la recherche :

Development, diffusion and set up of a collaborative project for the development of applications aimed at flow measurements and simulations in rivers

Description de la recherche :

Pierre-Yves will contribute to the set-up of a sharing platform dedicated to applications for flow measurements and simulations in rivers under an open-source license. He will propose and provide collaborative and management tools to organize and share code developed in the team for several flows : hydrodynamics, sediment transportation, morphological evolution, urban floods,… He will also bring his experience to supervise and help new PhD students.
