CICN tests plant combinations for health

PFTPLUS

At the Centre for Clinical Investigation in Nutrition (CICN), several studies are being conducted in parallel to test the effectiveness of plant combinations on physical and mental health.

Cholesterol study

This study aims to develop new dietary supplements based on Citrus fruit (more specifically, bergamot) and blue-green algae of the Cyanobacteria family (spirulina).

The aim is to demonstrate their cholesterol-regulating and anti-inflammatory effects in order to control the level of LDL cholesterol ("bad cholesterol").

Study on the improvement of psychological well-being

The aim of this study is to test the effectiveness of a combination of 2 plants:

  • Rhodiola, a plant used for years in traditional medicine to increase physical performance and reduce fatigue,
  • Saffron, which is a spice used in particular as an anxiolytic.

The use of these plants could therefore be useful in the context of mood disorders.

To carry out these studies, we are actively seeking volunteer participants
