On 31 August 2022, Mathieu Michel - State Secretary for Digitalisation - visited the facilities of the Media Innovation and Intelligibility Lab (MiiL).
During this official visit, MiiL presented some of its immersive and interactive projects with different industrial partners: Aisin Europe, Ellion, the Rossel group, RTBF, Data Village, La Niche.
Mathieu Michel could discover the functioning of the MiiL virtual studio. This studio allows the speakers to be immersed in an infinite number of hyperrealistic decors.
The MiiL team also presented to the State Secretary a prototype of a hospital metaverse. This immersive and collaborative universe allows caregivers to practice managing risk situations and to increase health literacy.
This hospital metaverse project is the technological basis of the MiiL MetaLab. The MetaLab is an interdisciplinary applied research project that encompasses different sub-projects such as a Pharmaverse, an immersive foresight laboratory, a user experience evaluation universe and a sustainable innovation universe.
The MiiL also presented its projects related to the automated processing of data with the media partners. These projects deal with the steps of collection, production and reception of information.
Finally, the MiiL exposed the results of its research on the social appropriation of technologies, media education and media literacy, and media ludology.
