In May, Musée L will be launching a new tool for highlighting its collections online.

The collections portal will make it possible to quickly view the details
of a work or object, whether or not it is on display.
In addition to broadening the scope and accessibility of its collections,
the museum intends to use this tool to encourage research and
teaching initiatives.

The Musée L recently acquired a new IT tool for managing its collections.

This project is being carried out in collaboration with SKINsoft, a company
specialised in the creation of applications dedicated to the management
of cultural heritage. Thanks to this new software, called S-Museum, the
museum team, and in particular the Collections Department, is working
on the inventory of collections and the management of documentary
resources relating to the objects and works held in the museum
.

From 23 May 2024, the inventory files for the objects in the collections will be available online on a new portal for consultation by teachers, researchers and students, as well as by the general public.

Each entry will include information on the identification, description and history of each object, supplemented by a bibliographical section. Entries will be checked and published regularly, in line with the museum's research, publications and news. The portal allows users to carry out simple or advanced searches using various filters (author, type of collection, technique, etc.).

The portal will also include focus articles on subjects related to the objects housed in the museum. These articles will be published quarterly and will be written by external researchers or by the museum team.

The portal will be launched at an invitation-only event for the academic and museum world, which will take place at the museum on Thursday 23 May 2024. This will be an opportunity for discussion and exchange.
