Three levels are offered in Latin, two in Greek: beginner (LFIAL1770 and LFIAL1180, Initiation), intermediate (LGLOR1270 and LGLOR1230, Texts, language and culture) and advanced (LFIAL1181A, Authors, requiring completion of secondary education). A Latin level test is organized at the beginning of each academic year to guide students towards the most appropriate course.
IMPORTANT NOTE: Students wishing to follow a full course of study in Greek and/or Latin, or who wish to pursue courses in Egyptian or cuneiform language and texts at Master's level, must opt for the Minor in Antiquity: Egypt, the Orient, Greece, Rome. Indeed, the two introductory courses in the chosen ancient language are designed as such: on their own, they are not sufficient to access the rest of the language training in the Master's programme.
