Among a variety of research tools developed internally, the ILC creates databases, prototypes and methodological protocols, and launches innovative processes, the furthest developed of which are listed below.
They are an adjunct to the expertise in linguistic and mediatic corpora building referred to elsewhere on the website.

Trilingual terminological database

The Trilingual terminology tool (French, English, Dutch) covering vocabulary specific to the world of academia was developed by the CECL, in collaboration with Professor Serge Verlinde of the Katholieke Universiteit Leuven.
 

BDLP Belgium (Pan-francophone lexicographical database)

The Belgian contribution to the pan-francophone lexicographical database offers:

  • simple’ consultation of the database or ‘combined’ consultation of this and other BDLP databases
  • comparison of the Belgian variety of French (French-speaking community) with other varieties.

The origins and stories of 1,700 modern French-language proverbs in an online dictionary.

LEAD (Louvain English for Academic Purposes Dictionary)

Dictionary of academic English combined with an English writing tool, available on line after identification. Developed by the CECL.
