Calculating, building and testing a support structure for a suspended hammock... to allow a person to rest above the water, at maximum distance from the bank: this is the aim of the "DEFI STRUCTURE".
As it does every year, the LEMSC technology platform supervised the construction of structures designed and dimensioned by "Ecole Polytechnique de Louvain" students as part of the P4 project (construction option) in BAC3.
At the end of the project, the best structures were put in competition with projects from other Belgian universities and university colleges on a special day: the "DEFI STRUCTURE".
Three universities (UMONS, UCLouvain and KULeuven) and three university colleges (HEH, HEPL and ECAM) were involved.
Sixteen teams were competing ... a total of 200 people on the LEMSC site!
The LEMSC team was present to supervise this exceptional event, which is illustrated in this video ! And despite the uncertain weather, it was a success!
