Innovative Classroom Design and Student Well-being: Insights from Chile

We are pleased to invite you to a research talk by Prof. Beatriz Piderit from Universidad San Sebastián, Chile taking place on Thursday 13 June at 16:00 at LLN in the Vinci building - Pepermans Room. Prof. Beatriz Piderit will present her innovative research on the impact of the physical environment on the well-being of students. The talk will cover the following topics:

  • Conceptualization of a prototype classroom in CLT: Innovation, versatility, and replicability in classroom design.
  • Educational spaces in Chile: The role of the physical environment in the educational experience and the well-being of students.

Dr. Beatriz Piderit is an architect, associate professor, and researcher at the Faculty of Engineering, Architecture, and Design at Universidad San Sebastián in Concepción, Chile. She specialises in sustainable architecture, daylighting, and the design of educational spaces. Dr. Piderit leads research projects funded by the Chilean Agency for Research and Development, aimed at improving the quality of educational spaces with a focus on student well-being and motivation. She is a member of the Ibero-American Network for Energy Poverty and Environmental Well-being. Her work promotes innovation in architecture, education, and well-being, having won the Concepción Municipal Award in Applied Research, published numerous papers, and presented her findings at international conferences.
