The FERM platform hosts the 8th FUGEA trade fair related to autonomy for fodder

PFTPLUS

The FUGEA's trade fair related to autonomy for fodder is a free one-day agricultural trade fair bringing together farmers, agricultural schools and professionals from the world of agriculture to discuss the theme of autonomy for fodder.

The concept was developed 9 years ago on the initiative of farmers from Hainaut.

This year, for its 8th edition, the event is co-organised with the Fermes universitaires de Louvain.

It has become a key technical forum, providing farmers with answers to their questions on how to implement practices that will enable them to be (more) self-sufficient in fodder production (particularly in times of drought), reduce the quantity of concentrates and improve the management of fodder crops.

The day will be divided into two parts :

  • In the morning, a phytolicence will be organised (with an outdoor trail of five 30-minute modules linked to autonomy for fodder).
At the same time, for agricultural schools, 3 workshops will be given by the Fermes universitaires de Louvain, Greenotec and the CRA-W.
Then, the 10 showcases of fodder mixes specially sown for the event will be presented by the seed companies.

  • In the afternoon, following lunch and the inauguration in the presence of Ministers Willy Borsus and Céline Tellier, two series of workshops will be given by Fermes universitaires de Louvain, Greenotec, Fourrages Mieux, CRA-W, Centre Michamps, AWAF and Natagriwal.

The day will close with demonstrations of fodder autonomy equipment and a drink reception.
