Séminaire COSY : "Measures of cortical excitability and action observation".

IONS

Abstract : research shows that the observation of action activates the same areas of the brain as those used during action execution. In this COSY conference, Martin Edwards will report a number of different studies performed by his research group (see http://www.psy-naps.org/). In the first part of the presentation, he will report studies that have used experimental psychology priming methods to investigate the different components of action involved in the shared neural processes. In the second part of the study, he will report studies that have used measures of motor area cortical excitability to investigate the behavioural prime effects. To end the presentation, he will discuss some current research that will use eye-tracking measures in combination with behavioural priming and cortical excitability in order to better understand the relationship between action observation and execution.
