Shut Up & Write! is a series of day-long work sessions organised for all LAB Researchers from three UCLouvain sites.
The sessions take place once a month during the academic year 2022-2023. November session was on Monday 21 in Louvain-la-Neuve.
The main goal of the sessions is to help researchers improve productivity in completing their assignments, such as academic writing.
How does it work? - Researchers select their writing assignments (e.g. journal article, conference paper, etc.).
They challenge themselves to write as many words as possible during a series of writing intervals.
Writing intervals are timed with Pomodoro technique, that consists of four 25-min writing “sprints” divided with 5-min breaks.
Researchers are able to track and share their progress after each writing sprint.
We invite LAB Researchers to join the December session and prepare individual daily goals relating to any academic assignment.
The number of participants is limited to 15. Registration will be open two weeks before the session, through a doodle.
Finally, Shut Up & Write! sessions are supported by LAB - sandwiches and desserts provided.
