MigFlow Project

Model for Immersed Granular Flows

Submarine avalanches and lava flows in geology. Granular catalysts in chemistry and pile driving in civil engineering. Crop mixing and drug powders in the agri-food and the pharmaceutical industries. Immersed granular flows are involved in a large number of phenomena with both industrial and scientific stakes. Most of the time, the geometry of the considered problem is complex, and the grain volume fraction varies greatly from one place to another. MigFlow (Model for Immersed Granular Flows) is a free and open source software, which results from a collaboration between the Université catholique de Louvain and the Université de Montpellier. The goal of this project is to simulate grains in a fluid in many different configurations with a convenient computational cost.
